PGCE Placements

Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College has partnerships with the Institute of Education, (IOE), Kings College, Goldsmiths University and Teach First to support the training of beginner teachers.

Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College is also the Lead School in a consortium with Langley Park School for Boys and Norbury Manor College. Hatcham College, along with the other consortium schools, have been awarded Specialist Partner status by the IOE in recognition of the high quality of their Professional Studies Programme for PGCE placements.

Through these partnerships and the consortium we offer PGCE placements in a wide range of subjects and have trained over 200 beginner teachers over the past 3 years.

Beginner teacher feedback on their placement at Hatcham over the last three years is overwhelmingly positive. The particular strengths highlighted through evaluations are: strength of subject knowledge development; the impact of coaching and mentoring from mentors; the opportunity to benefit from other in-school training outside of the ITT programme such as the Federation conferences and lectures and the weekly professional learning sessions.
